PRESENTATION of the author
The novel THE FOX'S DEN deals with a fantastic world, horror, but not too much, imaginative enough: I wanted to enter that land so widespread in popular narration, the oral one, the one that was largely lost in oblivion, which is difficult to transform into written text.
There is always the risk of betraying the original, sweet and sour, bitter taste, which smells of burning, with the scents of an extinct world, but with its human dimension.
I mean to talk about real people, who do not play an imbecile part of their lives to feel important.
So my book is aimed at those people who want to be themselves, without ever dressing up as Napoleon, but only as a human being, ordinary and nothing more.
SUMMARY
Borgofulvo is a mountain village, inhabited by mountain dwellers dedicated to the extraction of minerals and marble, a miner named Paolo wants to make the big hit of his life, extract gold from the Volpe mine, called the Tana della Volpe.
This is a cursed place, where no one wants to enter: for centuries a guardian has been watching over it and holding the key: at that time the guardian in question was an old man called Uncle friar, a misanthropic man, a little mysterious and almost a bum.
Paolo will make a pact with the man, becoming himself the new guardian: he will implicate the reluctant Andrea, a shy and somewhat cowardly friend of his, in the matter.
The search for gold will begin, which will be found, but it will not be possible to extract it due to a mysterious device.
With the opening of the old mine the undead will be freed, which will cause havoc among the people, among the gendarmes and among the fierce brigands themselves.
Eventually the fight against the Fox, the ancient mistress of gold, will lead to courageous actions by the two friends, who will be joined by Carlo, known as Carlone for his strength and his size.
They will have armed clashes, meetings also with werewolves and other beings, but in the end our friends will make the right choice.
